After completing a Foundation Degree in Animal Science, I then went on to study a BSc Honours in Animal Conservation Science at Plymouth University. Studying these subjects provided me with a wealth of practical and academic knowledge on animal health and welfare. During my study I undertook an Animal Assisted Therapy in Counselling course which taught me the skills necessary for caring for the animal involved and ensuring that their welfare is never compromised. I have a passion for the welfare of both domestic and wild animals. In the future I aim to gain a counselling qualification and become a registered counsellor.

I am a qualified, accredited and experienced counsellor specialising in children and young people across Somerset.  I have worked in the area for the past 20 years.  In 2001 I set up counselling services in several primary schools in Taunton and Wellington.  I managed counselling services and deliver supervision, training and consultancy to educational services and private practices.  I am also a qualified teacher with experience of mainstream and pupil referral units across all key stages.  Additional qualifications are in EAGALA part 1, LeadChange and Horse Heard, Forest School and as a Thrive Practitioner.
